To celebrate the arrival of our 15th anniversary, 19BOX RECORDINGS have lined up an outstanding new release guaranteed to inject extra energy into the dance floor. As the track title suggests, ‘Fuck U’ from Plagiarism packs an absolute wallop.  Plagiarism is a collaboration in between label boss DJ 19 and longtime collaborator, contributor and 19BOX stalwart Thomas Penton AKA Arkatec. We have also included a fantastic remix from Dutch impresario, Orson Welsh.

Arkatec is the newly created alias of Thomas Penton, who has decided to focus his creative energy towards a new direction in electronic music - one that is dark and energetic, yet deep at times. To complicate matters a little further, they have decided to use Plagiarism as the group name than the usual DJ 19 Vs Thomas Penton artist name of the past. Confused?  There’s no need since the music what’s taking control here. The original has tribal and techy elements, while the Miamix that is featured on our “WMC 2014 Sampler” is a more uplifting version.

Dutch tech and house bad boy Orson Welsh presents a low-slung, driving and skippy-beats monster of a remix that doesn't quit pulsating. He won the Dutch DJ Championships in 1996 and has released many tracks as Orson W., Orson ‘W’ Vs Disco Brothers and so forth. Currently he is most well-known for his remake of the seminal Detroit techno classic ‘Strings Of Life’.

After the success of their individual efforts with us, they joined forces last year after working on the projects described above together.

Reblah Star is part of the original production team, and known as Shanti Reblah, who has received recognition as an international recording artist, producer and engineer. He has remixed ‘That Rush’ in his own unique genre that he describes as ‘Reggae Tech’.

Jon FX is a popular Jamaican Dancehall producer, who has worked with artists such as Sean Paul, Shabba Ranks and so on. The Jamaican vibes are strong in his remix.

Russian producers DJ Shury & uRetz complete the remixes and take on an 80s vibe with a relentless house beat that uses inspiration from ‘The Never Ending Story’ by Limahl and totally different from the other versions.

Undoubtedly one of the finest lounge/chillout producers to emerge from Japan during recent years, Genuine Fakes (aka Sota S.) is a man who's musical talents are constantly growing, evolving and catching the attention of more and more people. His many appearances on compilations attest to his abilities as a producer. ‘Nocturne For Night Owls’ has already featured on several CDs already before its official release. We have enlisted Julio Largente on remix duties to help propel this fantastic tune into the stratosphere.

‘Mermaid’s Tears’ has been included in this EP as sort of a sister track to ‘Nocturne For Night Owls’. Both tracks are like non-identical twins - made from the exact same genetic DNA, but slightly different in the way they sound.

Remixes duties come courtesy of Julio Largente from Argentina. Fans of the label will already know him from having already appeared on 19BOX RECORDINGS as a remixer of Hideout Vs Jellymaze and as a producer of the originals on his fantastic ‘Cosmic Kites EP’. Julio is also a contributor to our sister label PARK LIMITED MUZIK as a collaborator with DJ 19 under The Loony Tunes guise. Julio’s remix is otherworldly. He takes the piano line from the original and changes it into different synth sound, adds some ethereal pads, a growling bassline and jets off into outer space - all while making the listener feel as though they’re piloting the whole experience. We hope you agree that this is one of the best remixes we’ve been delivered in quite some time!
