HOT STATION REMODELED S/A/W CLASSIC

|

Hot Station, the collaboration in between DJ 19 and Hideout, strike back on the 19BOX imprint with another fantastic cover version following their previous release ‘The Groove’. The original ‘Roadblock’ was released in 1987 by Stock Aitken Waterman. Hot Station have remodeled it to feature the vocals Avril “Starfire”Aiken who is sister of Shinehead. On remix duties is one of our favourite producers - Moussa Clarke & Freakbreak. Together they go straight for the jugular and produce a wonderful glitch hop remix.

Hot Station, the collaboration in between DJ 19 and Hideout, strike back on the 19BOX imprint with another fantastic cover version following their previous release ‘The Groove’. The original ‘Roadblock’ was released in 1987 by Stock Aitken Waterman. Hot Station have remodeled it to feature the vocals Avril “Starfire”Aiken. Avril hails from New York, by way of the UK and Jamaica. As a young child she grew up listening to her mother’s harmonic voice and also looking up to her reggae superstar brother, Shinehead. Avril has also featured previously on 19BOX with Rise and Shine 3.11’s ‘Rise And Shine’.

On remix duties is one of our favourite producers - Moussa Clarke & Freakbreak. There isn’t much we need to say about Moussa. He is well known under the PF Project, Tzant and Musique monikers. This time he has teamed up with an awesome bass music producer from Ukraine, Freakbeak. Freakbeak is a fan of underground broken beats and is also a key member of Moussa’s GLAMOUR PUNK collective. Together they go straight for the jugular and produce a wonderful glitch hop remix.

Rise And Shine 3.11 is a collective of reggae artists organized through the network of 3 cities: Kingston, Jamaica; New York, USA and Tokyo, Japan. The goal of the project is to support the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami that rocked the north-eastern coastal areas of Japan on March 11th, 2011. This project includes big names such as Shinehead and I-Octane. Other artists affiliated with the project include Anthony Red Rose, Ninja Ford, Lenn Hammoned, Vybrant, Prophecy, Iakopo, Worm Bass, Avril "Starfire" Aiken, Simone Gordon, among others and Movers who are Catapila, Dennis "Shango Trex" Llewellyn, and Edison.

It has taken almost two years to bring this project to fruition because of the addition of more and more artists. That said, we are now ready to release the Chill Out Remix by Ambrozia (DJ 19 + Edison), the instrumental Karaoke Version alongside the Original Mix. While it’s not the usual 19BOX (JUKEBOX) RECORDINGS sound, there is a great deal of meaning for a Japanese label to release this single when you consider the impact this has had on the country.

また、AMBROZIA(DJ 19+EDISON)による極上のチルアウト・ヴァージョンも収録。
